Example 7 takes the previous example and applies a bend of the b7 up to the 7. You will then place the pick against the string to silence it before you release the half step bend. Then complete the riff by striking the 1. This move is very common in blues guitar and can be applied to any area in a scale that encompasses a major second interval (one whole step).
