Watch the String Skipping: Level 1 online guitar lesson by Chris Buono from Guitar Gym: String Skipping
Make sure you have some time to digest this second Level 1 String Skipping Workout as it has a lot going on - or does it? Taking a closer look after the initial shock upon looking at the Guitar Pro/PDF file actually reveals a fair amount of order. The basic idea throughout the five staves (10 bars) is pulling off to open strings after making a one-string skip. Each bar stations itself in a specific zone of the fretboard and plays vertically across employing the same interval. The only change is when you have to make the necessary adjustments to maintain the same interval across string set with regards to tuning differences. The first half ascends vertically while the second half descends. Finally, as you play through each half you'll notice the shape you start out with expands from a common fret shape all the way to a five fret stretch. Not that bad, right? We'll see at 100bpm!
Also, watch for the pickup note at the third triplet of beat 4 in the count!
