Watch the Power Chords: Level 3 online guitar lesson by Chris Buono from Guitar Gym: Power Chord Workouts
This final Level 3 Power Chord Workout will have you making leaps over to non-adjacent string sets in a serious way. Starting out with two-note voicings you'll see a connection between this set of chords and the ones you've been playing, but the gloves come off once you get past the first bar of three-note voicings in bar 5. From there the power chord roots rise chromatically, but in a disjunct manner that has you displacing octaves and making some fairly difficult jumps.
Visualizing the next chord becomes even more crucial in this workout - remember, "it's not the chord you're on, but the chord you're going to!" The most important aspect of playing any chord change is to play it cleanly. In order to make that happen here you'll need to be on top of the muting techniques presented in this series of Power Chord Workouts.
