In the workout #1 you played a simple 4-note ascending/descending chromatic idea in eighth notes using successive hammer-ons and pull-offs. This time we're going to juggle that pattern by one note and repeat it twice per string before going onto the next adjacent one down. So instead of a 1234/4321 pattern, this workout employs a 4123 pattern, which requires a 1-1/2 (b3rd or more simply, 3 frets) pull-off followed by two chromatic hammer-ons. Be sure to keep your time steady and play with only upstrokes when playing the first note to ensure a strong start. As I suggested in the first workout, try to play the workout in various parts of the neck if you're able to.
