As stated, my general approach to this solo follows the stylistic techniques of Johnny Winter: I begin with unison bends executed on the G and B strings, with the note on the G string bent up one whole step while a note of the same pitch is fretted conventionally on the B string, to which vibrato on the G string is added. It will take practice to perform vibratos on bent strings with control and accuracy. Using the ring finger to fret the note, line the middle finger up behind it to strengthen the bend and vibrato. I then switch to an oblique bend by moving the note on the B string up from F# to A, three frets higher, which is fretted with the pinkie. I then descend through the B minor pentatonic scale (B D E F# A). I use hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides as much as possible to create a rolling feel. I use mostly downstrokes with the pick-hand to maintain an even attack.
