Scott Henderson is a modern blues/rock/jazz/fusion player who is a master of using wider intervals to create killer lines. Lots of jazz cats have used this sauce throughout the ages.
Listening to horn players can really open up your ears to different types of interval lines. Charlie Parker is always at the top of my list to listen to when I need some new perceptions on soloing.
Horn players approach things much differently than guitar players so the intervals come a bit more naturally to them. Listen and "borrow" liberally!
