The 1970's Outlaws sound was primarily based on country music. Over the years it changed to a more heavy kinda rock sound. In this early period, guitar players Jones & Thomason formed an outstanding and unique couple of dueling guitar hero's. The squeaky bite of Thomasons Strat, verses the more rocky Les Paul sound of Billy Jones were more or less the Outlaws trademark. In this up tempo I-IV, I-V chord structure in the key of A, we're gonna play some melodic lines, fitting the major chords used. Lick 27 is very traditional Outlaws style.
