Let's look at the notes I targeted:
For the C major chord, I played a line out of the C major pentatonic which included the root, 3rd and 5th, the chord tones!
For the E7, I looked for the note, G#, the major 3rd. On A7, I looked at the arpeggio and made the C# and A notes stand out, the 3rd and root.
On Dm, I played the note F (b3rd) with a bend from E. For F I referenced the C CAGED shape and played up the chord tones, R, 3 and 5th. On the F#dim I played notes of a diminished arpeggio: F# A C Eb. Returning to A7 I aimed for the 3rd, C#.
Being aware of chromatic passing notes to approach a chord tone such as the 3rd of D7, F# and the 3rd of G7, B. I encourage you to work on seeing the small chord voicings, inversions, CAGED triads.
