I'm going to make a few generalizations here so please bear with me! :-)  Since this song is in the vein of Eric Clapton, it's a good time to discuss some of the observations I have made on his playing. First off, he's fantastic. Now that that's out-of-the-way, when he would play on the blues in this period of time he would use the I7 soloing concept we discussed in the first section, using a minor pentatonic with an added natural third.  Generally speaking on the IV chord he would stick to minor pentatonic. On the V7 chord he would play a  mixture of the minor and major pentatonic scales, very often adding the natural third, sixth and the ninth into the minor pentatonic scale.  If you carefully use this approach, he'll certainly get you into the ballpark.
