On this one, I try to channel my best Peter Green impersonation. I highly suggest taking deeply into a player. Learn as many solos and songs of that player as you possibly can. Try to steal every nuance, bend, vibrato, lick, and phrase. Then forget all of it and play! :-) It is very easy to get drawn into the trap of imitation of another guitar player. Although I'm highly influenced by many players, I try not to sound too much like them as it is important to me to have my own personality.  But, I think one of the main ways to develop your own style and personality is to borrow heavily from the people who came before you. This is a time honored tradition that I strongly adhere to and advise you to follow. Everybody copied everybody.
