Watch the Boulevard: 1st Verse online guitar lesson by John Knowles, C.G.P. from Fingerstyle Journals
"Boulevard" is built around some of the first chords we all learned. For example, the first chord in "Boulevard" is a familiar C chord, but the only note I'm holding is the E on the fourth string at the second fret. So, my second finger is an anchor while the other fingers move to cover the bass and melody. By moving through the chords, instead of holding onto the whole chord shape, my left hand stays relaxed, and the melody can breathe. Work slowly so you can avoid falling into familiar patterns that might trip you up.
