Watch the SECTION 2: Performance Studies online guitar lesson by Brooks Robertson from Fingerstyle Survival Guide

Now it’s time to take the tools you have worked with plus the foundation and framework you’ve set up for yourself and begin constructing them into musical ideas and arrangements. We will be focusing on six songs and especially the important sections of those tunes that really utilize the techniques we’ve covered. There are four original tunes I’ve written, Keep It Movin’, Jonesin’, Waking Up To Dreams and Into The Trees. in addition to three original Buster B. Jones compositions, Waltz For One, Jessica Sue and Carol. Each one of these arrangements uses at least three of four concepts we’ve talked about at any given time. By learning them and analyzing them you will develop the ability to use all the concepts in a real musical situation and become more comfortable with the concepts. My hope is that you will take the techniques you’ve learned in the course and expand on them, making them something of your own.
