Watch the 1-3-5 Blues online guitar lesson by Andrew Ford from Essentials: Walking Bass Lines
Now lets play some walking bass in 3/4 time. This bass line is inspired by Percy Heath's performance on the Wes Montgomery song West Coast Blues. Percy had a massive groove and drives home the fact that with a healthy dose of root, fifth and an occasional third you can develop a powerful and effective bass line. In this example we will explore the concept of having a beginning note, a support note, and then right to our transition note to the next chord when walking in 3/4 time. Let's dive into this one.
