Watch the My Heart is Kind online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Essentials: Solo Electric Blues
This blues is based on Robert Johnson's Kindhearted Blues. It is one of handful of tunes he played in standard tuning and is a great place to get started on a Delta blues path. The most difficult aspect is the thumb playing steady quarter notes throughout most of the tune. It is a very difficult thing to get down, but practice it slowly and it'll come. I will note that many of the classic Delta blues musicians only played the steady bass note, most of the time, not all of the time. They would often drop it when it came to a particularly difficult section. That certainly made me feel much better about me doing the same thing!
