Watch the Catch My Drift online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Essentials: Blues Rock Grooves Vol. 2

The breakdown on this tune is pretty straightforward, so I'll take this opportunity talk about the original version of Fleetwood Mac. The only two original members still in the band are Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, and his ex-wife Christine McVie was in the band since the late 60's of the group. The two players who were in the band with Green that don't seem to get as much attention are Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer. Both Kirwan and Spencer handled vocal duties as well as guitar, with Spencer coming from the Elmore James school of playing and singing. Kirwan was brought in by Green to be his foil, as Spencer couldn't handle some of the parts Green was writing. Kirwan also suffered from addiction problems during and after his time with Fleetwood Mac. For some of the best playing from both of these guys I highly recommend the Boston Tea Party recordings. Both Kirwan and Green are at their peak on these records.
