Watch the Cross Saw Solo online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Essentials: Advanced Blues Soloing

The chord progression to this tune is essentially Albert King's "Crosscut Saw". Albert primarily plays pentatonic on his version, but here I wanted to mix in some chord tones and some chromatic ideas to get into some other sounds.

I'll show you a cool chromatic approach note lick moving from the I7 to the IV7 chords. The feel on this tune is called a rumba or a mambo depending on who you ask! It has a bit of a New Orleans feel with a touch of Latin. I don't want to sound like I'm trying to pimp my other courses, but the rhythm guitar part for this is very important as well, and it's in my Essentials: Advanced Blues Rhythm course.
