Watch the Shuffle E online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Essentials: Advanced Blues Rhythm
Like all the other examples, hopefully seeing a pattern here, the rhythm is driven by my right-hand. It's keeping the constant swing eighth notes so essential to the groove. Start by solidly making it through the first 12 bars of the groove and making sure it's good and steady. Do not pass go until that's solid.
In the second verse, we take a stab at the chord voicings using the basic cowboy chords, which always sound awesome. In the third verse, we'll hit some up beats for a nice rhythmic variation then back to the groove.
