Watch the Take Your Time online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Essentials: Advanced Blues Rhythm
The more difficult part of this tune is playing the variations where I outline the chord changes. As you can see, I'm sticking to smaller voicings on the top three or four strings. After playing the main riff two times, the song comes down a bit in intensity. You wouldn't want the song to be the same volume the whole time. That would stink. So, what we can do is get away from the riff and let the bass player have it, and I'm going to fill in the chords. I would start off by hitting each of the chords on the downbeat, so on beat one of each of the changes. This is an excellent introduction to playing some nice complementary parts.
