Watch the A Funky Vamp online guitar lesson by David Grissom from Open Road Guitar

In this study I'm going to play over funky vamp on an A9 chord. I'm going to start with some double step bends with my first finger, then move into some suspensions we talked about in the first part of the course. I want to point out that I'm sometimes using a C note which is not in the scale but works as kind of a blue note. I will also milk a note and emphasize some vibrato at the end then go into some pedal steel bends starting with rakes. What I like and want to show you is that sometimes some of these pedal steel bends and suspensions are not something you're going to hear in a group like this. I think it illustrates how I like to mix genres at will. Let's give it a shot!
