Watch the Zeke and Zeb online guitar lesson by Jason Loughlin from 30 Country Jazz Licks You MUST Know

Zeb Turner and Zeke Turner often get confused with each other - for the longest time, I just thought it was a misprint. They are brothers and both great guitar players, and the funny thing is that Zeke and Zeb are both stage names. Turner isn't even their last name. They copped it from the song "The Zeb Turner Stomp". He backed artist like Hank Williams and Red Foley, but also put out a few records of his own like Country Boogie and Chew Tobacco Rag.

We're gonna look at one of his licks over the I chord in the key of A, in which he uses a C# diminished arpeggio to give it an altered sound. The diminished arpeggio sounds as the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and b9th within the context of the chord. This lick comes from Red Foley's version of "Tennessee Border".
