The pickup into the solo starts with a blues scale harmonized with 4ths. The next phrase is all D blues scale. Then, I slide into 6ths over Dm. By changing the top note down a diatonic step, I turn the 6th into a 5th. For the C chord, I use a D Dorian melody that lets major and minor 2nds ring into each other. Then, I use the D blues scale to climb up the neck into a double stop. The bending double stop over the Dm uses a D blues scale on the bottom and a droning C on top. For the turnaround of F to C, I'm outline and embellishing triads. The last phrase harmonizes the D blues scale with major 3rds.
