Watch the Country Boogie Solo online guitar lesson by Jason Loughlin from Essentials: Country Soloing Styles

The first three licks of this solo come straight from boogie woogie pianists. This is a backwards roll through the pentatonic scale landing on an approach note into a chord tone. The next notable lick is over the E chord. We'll use a three note boogie pattern with eighth notes. This will lead into an E augmented arpeggio into the A chord. We move up the neck with double stops over A and continue into the E chord. When we get to the E chord, I start to descend double stops down the E Mixolydian scale. While still on E, I use B as a pedal note and alternate between B and an ascending melody. I end the solo with double stops over A that slide down a half step and back into pitch.
