Let's take a look at two simple to alter our dominant chords. You can do this to the I chord leading to the IV or the V chord leading back to I. We can use our whole tone and diminished scale to create tension. This makes the landing on the new chord have a big payoff. I'll show you a couple of ways to play these two scales.
