Watch the Outrun The Train online guitar lesson by Ladd Smith from Modern Nashville Guitar

This is a real improvisational verse for me. We use that same basic pick-up again as an audial bookmark and I use a variation of the unison bend again but in E. Here's the first decent example of my vibrato as I'm talking and breaking this down. Remember folks: Vibrato=Pitch Variaton - & - Tremolo=Volume/Velocity Variation... Lest we forget. I'm not sure why, but some people have told me that my vibrato is different than a lot of other guitarists. I personally don't hear it being that different. I basically just phrase it like I do vibrato on my voice, let me know if you figure that one out. Here's one of my favorite ascending runs. This one's very difficult to do very fast because you have to get your whole arm moving very quickly at the elbow, it takes some practice. Then we're into a 'D form triad' and again I mention Don Rich's influence on myself and my friend Johnny Hiland, one of the greatest players out there and a sweetheart of a person also.
