Watch the Study 8: Country Boogie online guitar lesson by Jason Loughlin from Country Guitar Survival Guide: Rhythm
Country Boogie takes a look at the popular rockin' boogie sound of the 90's. The acoustic is strumming eighth notes with a heavy accent on the backbeat. The electric rhythm guitar parts are a mash up of boom chicks and boogie lines. We'll establish a basic pattern that works for each chord shape. The fills tend to be very aggressive, often and use a lot of hybrid picking. Most of these tunes are in very friendly guitar keys. We'll be using the open chords as templates for our rhythm guitar parts.
