Watch the Common Chords & Bass Patterns online guitar lesson by Cathy Fink from Bluegrass Rhythm Handbook

In the key of A, there are open chord variations that give you the deep bass of the open E (6th string). Depending on what sound you want, you may choose to capo on the 2nd fret for the "G" chord sounds. They sound very different, and it's your choice depending on the song, sound you're looking for, and of course, whether or not you can find your capo!
