Watch the Claws and Paws online guitar lesson by Jason Loughlin from 50 Country Masters Licks You MUST Know
This lick comes to us from the great Jerry Reed. It's taken from the intro to "The Claw "in 1967. It’s actually played on classical guitar, but his licks have influenced a ton of electric guitar players. Jerry had this very inventive way of playing double stops on the guitar. He was a great songwriter also. Along with writing hits for himself through the 60's and 70's not many people know that he wrote "Crazy Legs" for Gene Vincent and The Bluecaps. This lick is in A and has some double stops connected with chromatic notes and approach notes to chord tones, and finally ending with a nice little low string lick that takes us into the head of the tune.
