Watch the Double Stops online guitar lesson by Jason Loughlin from 1-2-3 Rockabilly Guitar

What are double stops?! All this means is two notes at once. It could be any two notes. This approach to soloing is rooted in fiddle playing for sure. The double stop is a common techniques used by fiddlers to help establish what chord they were playing over. Blues piano players also used it. Us greedy little guitarist stole the idea! It's a great way to create more sound and get a little raunchier. The double stop approach was made famous mostly by Chuck Berry and Hubert Sumlin. Again we will learn three go to licks. Each lick is dedicated to a I, IV or V chord.
