This example is a variation of the previous example. I added some melody notes. They function as fills. Of course, it’s a little more complicated but especially in a small band situation you can get a lot of mileage from it. These melody notes are simply the fourth and the third of each chord. We have used this sound numerous times playing our standard D chord and adding the pinky on the first string third fret. Here it is a little more complicated with the constant bass and rhythm playing simultaneously.
