Watch the Caprice No.5 online guitar lesson by Tony Smotherman from Classical Flatpicking Explorations
Paganini pieces are generally known for the speed at which they're played at. The best part of all the caprices, is that even at a slower tempo, they're still musical. I suggest taking just the first few measures and repeating until you can get it to a nice even tempo. It's quite fun and the original theme pops up later in the piece up an octave. Be sure to alternate pick throughout and keep things slow until you're ready to increase the tempo. Paganini's music translates really nice to solo electric guitar, too!
