Watch the Transverse Position online guitar lesson by Andrew Leonard from Beginner Method for Classical Guitar

After a quick review of parallel position, our second left hand classical guitar position is introduced: transverse position. Transverse position involves using more than one left hand finger on the neck of the guitar. In the video, you'll see that many of the principles for left hand technique are the same. In addition, the concept of opposed motion in left hand classical guitar technique is discussed.

Oops! At about 55 seconds, I say "we're going to talk about parallel position." I should have said "transverse position" instead. Although it's immediately clarified and should be easy to follow, I just want to mention it to avoid any confusion.
