Watch the Tárrega Exercise #7 online guitar lesson by Andrew Leonard from Beginner Method for Classical Guitar

Francisco Tárrega's "Exercise #7" combines many elements of classical guitar technique: left hand parallel position, right hand alternation (notice we start with the M finger) and right hand string crossing. In addition, we're using the A major scale you have already practiced.

Please note: for those of you who are familiar with key signatures and/or can read music in standard notation, you may notice something interesting in the piece. The key signature is D major but most of the piece uses the A major scale. I believe the reason Tárrega does this is two-fold: 1) the focus of this exercise is right and left hand synchronization and 2) the full version of the piece ends with a D major scale.
