Watch the Call Me online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Chord Studies: Slash Chords Vol. 2

Here we have a nice funk groove over a G bass note. We start off with a move from Gm to Am, then moving to some smoother voicings with F to Gm. We then move up to the higher register for some inversions. This is a great example of call and response style rhythm.

Throughout this example, the bass guitar is playing G and all chords can be thought of as "/G" chords in the context of the full band. However, since the guitar voicings themselves often have different bass notes, the chord names will reflect the bass note in the guitar voicing and not the bass guitar.
