Watch the The B - E Connection online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Chord Studies: Rock and Pop Progressions Vol. 2

This example amounts to three different chords all with a pedal note (B) in the bass, and then the bass line moves down to an E. On the first chord, Bm you typically would voice the fifth string but in this example we are aiming to keep the same amount of voicings in each chord, so use your second finger to reach that low B note which in turn will deaden the fifth string. Your first and fourth fingers will be guide fingers when moving to the B9sus4 ( or A/B). Finger one will be a guide when going to the E/B and then the bass line changes and we finish strong with an E chord.
