Watch the Form Fitting online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Chord Studies: Evolving Triads Vol. 1
We start this progression with an A chord in second inversion, which is derived from the E form of the CAGED system. Your third finger will act as guide when you move up two frets and play a first inversion D chord, which is coming right out of your G form. Keeping the barre in place, your third and fourth fingers come into play to give you a root position E chord.
