In this progression we are again using the first three strings and utilizing triad forms right out of the CAGED system. With your A chord, barre all three strings because it will help make it easier to get into the D chord. Then simply move down a fret, pick your third and fourth fingers up, move your second finger over and you're on an E chord, second inversion.
