Watch the Familiar Ground online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Chord Studies: Evolving Progressions Vol. 2
We're back to the idea of moving just one voice here, and you'll notice something right off the bat - our first voicing is right out of the Dm barre chord form with an added C on the bottom to give us our Dm7. But, if we drop that C to a B we then get a G9 chord. If you want to have those top three strings ringing throughout, try using your third finger to barre and your second and first fingers to take care of the chromatic move.
