Watch the Decent Descent online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Chord Studies: Double-Stops Vol. 1
This example is again in A Mixolydian, meaning that we are outlining an A7 tonality. We start off with the A6, outlined by the sixth and the root. Then we begin our descent, and you'll recognize all of the other shapes from our previous example. Try sliding into the A6 to start things off with a more dynamic vibe. These sorts of descending thirds are used in lots of different styles, from country to blues to swing. Try different rhythms and techniques (such as sliding or picking the notes individually) to get some different sounds.
