Watch the E Form For All online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Chord Studies: CAGED Chords Vol. 1
This example applies the E form out of the CAGED system to play both an A and a G chord. Note that your first finger is acting like a capo, or the nut would in open position, and allowing you to move the same closed E chord form up and down the neck. Both chords in this example should be played for four beats, and be sure to get the changes smooth and clean before adding more rhythmic feel.
