Watch the The Celtic Journeyman online guitar lesson by Tony McManus from The Celtic Journeyman

It has been immense fun looking at these tunes and introducing you to some of the aspects of Celtic music and playing it on guitar. I hope you’ve enjoyed the music and enjoyed learning some new techniques and applying them to this music.

One hope is that this course might encourage you to explore the genre without specific reference to the guitar- listen to bagpipes, to fiddlers, flute players, singers etc. and if you find a song or tune that moves you, then think about arranging it as a guitar piece.

There are a lot of new ideas perhaps in terms of tunings, ornamentations, left and right hand techniques. Practice them in isolation and then apply them to the tunes themselves.

If you want to keep up with my work my website is www.tonymcmanus.com and there’s a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TonyMcManusMusic where I’m reasonably active. I’m also out on the road continuously so maybe I’ll be in your part of the world sometime soon- feel free to say hello. In the meantime enjoy your music and keep safe.
