Watch the Groovy Glasses online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Play in the Style of Billy Gibbons

This first study is called 'Groovy Glasses' and of course as you can imagine it is a take off on the ZZ Top classic "Cheap Sunglasses". "Cheap Sunglasses" may be one of my favorite ZZ Top tunes of all time, in fact it's one of my favorite tunes of all time. The groove on this one is basically two chords Cm7 to Bb/C and I highly suggest you just mess around soloing over this track using the C minor pentatonic scale. Something else to do as an exercise is to just run the scales over the chord progression I am going to solo over as a good warm-up. This gets me into the rhythmic subdivision of the tune, and often leads to some good ideas!
