Watch the Rev It Up! online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Play in the Style of Billy Gibbons
That of course is the intro lick to "La Grange" and it's a bit tricky to play so keep a close eye on the tab. The faster part is all triplets and it starts on the down beat after the initial bend on the top. The fingering is also tricky as we have to flatten out the third finger and roll it between the third and fourth strings in what feels like a mini double-stop. I suggest isolating this section of the lick to work through it. At the risk of sounding arrogant, I cleaned up what Billy plays on the record to make a little more rhythmic sense when working through the lick. From what I know about his solos on the records he improvises them and lets it ride. This is how he gets those fresh sounding takes full of fire and vibe. Unfortunately that makes learning the solo more difficult!
