Watch the Next Door Neighbor online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Play in the Style of Billy Gibbons

This one is called 'Next-Door Neighbor' and I'm playing with the ZZ Top tune called "Neighbor Neighbor" off of their first record. If you don't have ZZ Top's First Record I highly recommend you get it right away. It's a great classic blues rock record with fantastic guitar playing that stands the test of time. The chord progression is basically a shorter form blues in the key of G. Granted the song is a little obscure but it's a lot of fun to play on a gig as it could fit in beautifully to a regular blues set. Scale-wise we're basically sticking to the G minor blues scale and putting together some of the Neighbor-themed licks we learned previously. In the previous section I showed you how to play the rhythm guitar part, definitely learn this as well!
