Watch the The Big Rest online guitar lesson by Bill Evans from 30 Sax Licks for Guitar You MUST Know

Get used to adding intervals to your lines. You don't want to just run scales every time to improvise, do you? When I practice my saxophone, I always try to spend some time practicing intervals (so does Mike!). If you really learned the scales, triplets, intervals, then you would be already 90 percent on your way! When you look at this line, pick out the 3rds, 5ths, and 7ths and consider the other notes passing tones. It doesn't seem so difficult when you break it down.
