Watch the Jazz-a-billy: Solo 4 online guitar lesson by Steve Trovato from Voodoo Blues

This solo is a voodoo spectacular. I am blending several styles into
one eclectic sound. The idea of blending styles is really the crux of my voodoo sound.

I start with a series of arpeggios. Over the D7 or IV chord I am playing an
F#min7b5 arpeggio. A good rule of thumb: Whenever you have a dominant 7th chord you may play a
min7b5 arpeggio, a major third above the root of the chord. The next idea is a bopish chromatic
line.

For the turnaround I’m using a series of chromatic 13th chords.
