Watch the Swing It On Over online guitar lesson by David Blacker from Swing Blues Survival Guide: Rhythm

This piece opens with a chromatic walk-up from the top half of an E9th to an E13th. Then we slide down from an E6/C# built off the 11th fret of the D string, to an E9/B built off the 9th fret of the D string. These first 4 bars incorporate a wealth of different voicings, so please experiment with mixing and matching these sounds. Over the IV chord, we target some A9th sounds on the 12th and 7th frets.

When we return back to the I chord in the 7th measure, we have a nice series of two note sliding chord fragments (each approached from half step below) that work their way down the strings to resolve on the major 3rd of the I chord (11th fret A string). For the turnaround, we have a move that walks down from a B6/Eb shape to a B9/A, using the same fingering. Finally we resolve back to a E6/C# on the top three strings.
