The tricky thing about the first 4 bars in this piece is the quick movement of the chords, so definitely practice this at a slow tempo at first. You can also try transposing parts of it to see if you prefer other fingerings. I find this to be the most straight-forward way to get through the passage. Take note of the sound of the two note 9th chord voicing over the IV chord in the 5th & 6th measures. In a country feel like this, the use of 9th's and extended dominants give it some of the swing feel.
