Watch the Hollywood Stomp: Solo 2 online guitar lesson by David Blacker from Swing Blues Survival Guide: Lead

This second solo begins with some great rolling pentatonic based interval riffs, ending with a major 3rd/minor 3rd trill. Over the IV chord we move up to B and high E strings to outline the major 3rd and the dominant seventh degrees of the IV chord, ending with a micro-bend. Over the 7th and 8th measures, the riffs cycle down the pentatonic into the turnaround. This turnaround is pretty tricky even though it involves just a few notes. It's the rhythmic variations of the notes that make it so challenging and so characteristically Fats. Take the transition into the turnaround slow until it becomes second nature.
