Watch the Sweet Little Three online guitar lesson by Corey Congilio from Solo Factory: Texas Blues
We’re in pattern 3 for this lick. Pattern 3 always eluded me. My fingers could just never find anything cool to play. In my research, I’ve found that many players go for major sounding notes in this pattern. Adding major notes to the minor pentatonic scale makes for a sweeter less aggressive sound. These major notes just happen to fit well over the IV chord in a 12 bar blues progression. Give this one a go and you’ll see what I mean.
