Watch the Hey Buddy online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Solo Factory: Chicago Blues
Here is a slick one for you. Although it is a V7 lick we basically staying in the A minor pentatonic scale. First off let's get some big vibrato on the first note to give it some mojo. Next I basically run right up Am pentatonic, but as you can hear I'm playing very much behind the beat, and adding a little bend to each of the the notes. The hard part about a lick like this, is to get it to sit right on the beat. I am playing behind the beat in a very relaxed fashion. This is a difficult feel to achieve, so take your time with it. I also suggest listening to the great guitar players such as Buddy Guy who inspired this one!
